See you Late(r) Alligator; Maybe Never!

Ok hands up if you are always late for everything?? It’s certainly not through lack of trying. I have found that no matter how organised I am, that there are only a few times in my life where I am actually on time for everything. Of course, I try to be on time for the important stuff such as health appointments, stuff for the kids etc. Yet when it comes to my own stuff I seem to hit this mental block.

Anyone who meets me would think I’m the kind of person who gets a kick out of being late, and their probably right…the difference is it’s usually me kicking myself up the bum. As an adult I try my best to be pre-prepared and this is so important to 1. My sanity and 2. When you have kids. Doing everything at the last minute only works sometimes when you have kids, and it usually leads to an enormous amount of stress.

“I’m aware of the time and yet I’m still always late….stupid brain!”

Yet despite how organised I am, my brain just won’t cooperate when it comes to leaving the house, especially if it’s in the morning I just can’t. Don’t ask me why, I just get filled with anxiety and won’t leave until I absolutely have to. So when I make friends with plans now it’s always between this time and this time. More often than not I don’t tend to make plans in the morning unless it involves me frequenting the local coffee shop with my laptop (in other words I’m best left alone).

I’ve got better at not being mega late as an adult, but I also think life is too short to stress about an extra ten minutes on the clock. I mean anything passed that and I get super stressed out anyway, to the point I have a meltdown and don’t want to go anywhere. I’m wondering if the fact I absolutely hate being early and sitting about like a wet lettuce has anything to do with it, but who knows?

The point is if you expect to be my friend or even want to do anything with me, don’t expect me to be on time all the time or you’ll be extremely disappointed.
