For fair too long people with neurodivergence have been lost in the gap between acitvely being classed as disabled and being able to fully function on a day to day basis. This means the majority of us have made ourselves smaller, quieter, had our needs go unnoticed at great personal cost so that we could fit into society, but that is not the point of inclusion.
We’re calling on public sector services in the UK to go bigger and better by commiting to have all their staff enroll on some form of hidden disability training so they can better support those whose disabilities are less visable.
There are three ways in which you can support our campaign:-
- Sign our governent petition! We are calling on the government to make sure all those working in public sector services have a basic understanding of hidden disabilitiies so they can support accessibility and reasonable adjustments.
- Enrol on our brand new online course ‘ADHD: A Deeper Understanding’ which gives a bigger picture of what ADHD is from a medical, pyschological and educational point of view combined with lived experience. Get 50% off until the end of July, by using the code JULY-GET-50%, The more understanding, the more awareness.
- Share our campaign on social media, or better yet share your own story of what it’s like to live with neurodivergence on a daily basis or how you’ve seen it affect a loved one. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #timetobebigger
